All went well after I reprinted wrapper. The original printing wasn't recognized I guess

Something weird has been happening to me this week across all swap accounts. The system doesn't recognize my log-ins.

Currently the system won't allow me to mark CDs as mailed. When I try, the following message appears: "Log-in Required". But I'm already logged in. I was able to buy postage and quick credit with no problems.

This is bad because I physically mailed the CD and if I can't mark it mailed by a certain date, I won't get my credit. Also, aren't requestors allowed to cancel before a sender marks it mailed?

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Hi Evelyn. The employees complained about flatness. When I use cardboard, I form it into a square so that it resembles a postcard sized envelope

Thanks for the recommended dimensions. I'm positive my packing fell well within those dimensions, including the 1/4 inch thickness rule. And swapadvd got the weight to a tee. These employees say I should not be using the letter cost, but they don't seem too knowledgeable regarding the parameters for letters.

I've been getting heat from the post office recently for the 86 cents swapacd charges to mail each disc. I do enclose cds  between 2 very thin pieces of cardboard...the package is still very flat, but not flat enough for my local p.o branches. They say I should be paying the package price. An employee wanted to increase my cd to $2. Another one said to not be surprised when the packages get returned to me. ??? Does swapacd recommend cardboard or do they suggest just wrapping the disc in paper?

If the envelope is not as flat as a fruit roll-up, the po is always going to compliain.

I chose the option that says "print postage and delivery confirmation directly onto lable", but the dc barcode did not print, and I see 19 cents in my account balance (dc price). Why? Can this label be reprinted with the dc?

i'm going to use icberry's idea and throw an extra stamp on there since the p.o's around here also push the package cost on anything that isn't as flat as a fruit roll-up

I'm having a similar problem. Swapacd is charging $1.04 "letter cost" for a 2.2 ounce package (this does not include postage fee and dc). On usps.com, the "package cost" is $1.71 prior to dc.

Of course I'm using tough cardboard to protect the discs. What if the post office considers it a small package instead of a letter and returns my cd's to me? Is there any recourse? Do I still get my 2 credits for trying?

Boy I feel like a dork. Much of my wishlist is indeed on auto request. Oh well. On the bright side, perhaps an avalanche of offers will now come in and it'll be like Christmas in January. Thanks for the help. Happy New Year.

DT is probably right. My local post office is notorious for inconsistent fees. An 8 ounce package is charged at 40 cents higher than it would go for at a post office one town over. Something's up...probably inexperienced clerks...so I now have to cross city limits to mail anything.

About a year ago, my swapacd account fell to 10 cents (my credits are also at zero, but I could transfer credits from the sister sites anytime). I decided to only replenish the accounts when a wished cd is offered to me. However, I haven't been offered a wished CD since that time even though I'm number one in line for many. Am I being passed over because my accounts are void of $$ and credits? Or are my desired cd's just not being posted?

I also agree that postal theft is rare. I just wish the scanning activity would start because if you were to type in the confirmation number, it looks like I didn't deliver the package to the P.O. in the first place. Guess I'm just paranoid about being accused of mail fraud.

Can a package leave a post office without being scanned? Hopefully that's what happened and the receiver got his cd. Of course, what are the odds that 4 P.O.'s (my town and state po's, plus the reciever's town and state p.o.'s) all forgot to scan a barcoded package?

If a cd goes lost, does the requestor get his credits back too?

I'm in a bind. I sent out a 2-disc set ten days ago with swapacd postage & delivery confirmation. USPS.com still hasn't acknowledged receiving the package even though I handed it to a postal clerk  10 days ago. I'd hate to think it was stolen by postal employees. I notice the wrapper says "non-machineable mail". I was wondering if that could be reason for the delay. Has anyone here worked at a P.O. where this might be the case?

I bet a lot of people cross list their inventory on multiple swap sites. So if they trade something away on swaptree, they might forget to delete it from their inventory on swapacd. That's my theory. I can't imagine losing things like books and cd's so often, unless they move a lot. My apartment only has 3 rooms, so it's tough to lose anything here.

Have you tried other swap sites? Most of them let you browse the inventory before signing up. It wouldn't hurt to search through the following :Titletrader, swaptree, barterbee, 2swap

Patience is key. I'm told that recently released items can take months or even years to get. That's what is happening on my paperbackswap account (17 books wished and the list hasn't moved on any of them during my 3 months as a member).

But you might get lucky...Dane Cook's latest cd is being mailed to me this week. I didn't think that cd would make it on swap sites so fast.

Hi Steph.

I'm sort of new to swapacd. I was wondering how the cd bazarre room works.

Since I can't post the Bruce Bruce cd in the system, how will swapacd know to deduct 49 cents out of my account when it arrives there?

By the way, the cd comes with a book too. Want that too? I can use the shelf room.

Let me know where to send

Thanks

Mike
