CD Reviews

A great addition to your Disney music collection

"If your child loves Winnie the Pooh, this has the songs from the new Heffalump movie, plus from Piglet's Big Movie, and all the best classic Pooh thrown in -- so if you buy only one Winnie the Pooh album, this one is it!

Carly Simon does a great job of making the songs great for adults to listen along to. You can't go wrong with this collection if you are a Pooh bear fan, its been a favorite must turn on in the car of my 4 year old for a couple of months now!

With a Few Good Friends / What Do You Do?

""The Best of Pooh & Heffalumps, Too" is sort of the official soundtrack for "Pooh's Heffalump Movie," but it also includes a great selection of songs from past movies and classics as well, some heffalump-related, some not.

The immediate stand-out of this album is "Shoulder to Shoulder," a wonderful, triumphant, cheerful track about the friendship that forms between Roo and the new Lumpy character from "Pooh's Heffalump Movie." Powerful music, strong vocals and great lyrics. It's been described as the "emotional high-point" of the movie and I couldn't agree more.

Some of the songs are very catchy and tend to get stuck in your head. "In the Name of the Hundred Acre Wood / What Do You Do?" is one of these --- it's the song that was used in the closing credits for "Pooh's Heffalump Movie." 'What do you do? / When something new / Crosses your path out of the blue...' very good stuff. Another good track is "With a Few Good Friends," from "Piglet's Big Movie."

Classics include the "Winnie the Pooh" theme (original version and version from "Piglet's Big Movie"), "Rumbly in My Tumbly" and "Little Black Raincloud." The total CD length is only about a half-hour, but the songs are so good, that it feels like it goes on pleasantly longer. And of course, you'll find it hard put to listen to it just once (or even just a few times.)"
Great movie, Great soundtrack

"With all the Winnie the Pooh movies out, this one is great! And the soundtrack is great, too! Carly Simon does for Winnie the Pooh what Phil Collins did for Tarzan.

Includes songs actually out of the movie and also some classics such as the Tigger Song, the Winnie the Pooh theme song (two versions-the Carly Simon version and the classic version), Heffalumps and Woozles.

If your child loves the movie, they are certain to love this album."
