"UFO "The Decca Years" is a very good collection of early recordings. So early in fact, that you can even hear how limited the recording techniques were for the time. No overdubs,no fancy effects added in the studio and no hot shot producer telling them what to do. This was late 60's/early 70's Rock n Roll when the most important element was the music. The Music is and always should be the focus of any band. Not the image or the looks. These songs are filled with "what you hear is what you get" recordings. Raw spontaneous energy!! There is lot's to enjoy here. But you must realize that the music/recording of this CD sounds as it did when it was first recorded. The recording technique's used had limitations. In my opinion this just makes it better. Now! let's talk about the music itself. You get 18 tracks of early UFO.There are a few great songs,a few good songs and some not so good songs. If your a Micheal Schenker guitar fan you may be dissapionted. Most are performed without Schenker at the helm. Guitarist Mick Bolton gives us his version of rock n roll style UFO. Phil Moog on vocals,Pete Way on bass. Most songs are basic three chord rockers. Solid and tasteful. Nothing fancy. Just good old fashion Rock n Roll. Check out track 16 called Silver Bird.Over 6 minutes of awesome instrumental jamming."Fantastic" buy it for this track alone. This CD offers an enjoyable yet interesting mix of the not so well known UFO. Even the most avid UFO fan will probably find something here that they have never heard. Fast fact: UFO was one of the first major Rock n Roll acts to perform live and record live in Japan. Final thought; If your a Big UFO fan than Buy it. Or if your someone who is searching for re-issue older Rock n Roll recordings that have been re-mixed in there original form than buy it. Enjoy!!"
