"Although I think these albums were originally recorded and released a year apart, this is a fabulous double-cd set. Buy it...you won't regret it. By turns, rock 'n' roll, Americana, bluegrass and orchestral in scope, both discs have a majesty that is simply hard to describe. Great musicianship, gorgeous guest vocals by Ana Egge, amazing songwriting. I bought the set on the basis of an mp3 of the great song "Home" (from To A Friend) that I stumbled upon somewhere. But the music on these discs was so much more than I expected. I've got copies everywhere I listen to music...on the iPod, on the computer, in the car and these works have not really left my music rotation for the past eight months. I've turned several friends on to Tandy and everyone has had the same reaction I did. And, as another reviewer said, it's great driving music. And a strangely different experience played in the studio in the wee hours when the rest of the world drops away. I've also purchased The Bloodroot Transcriptions, which is very good, too, but quite different in tone and mood from To A Friend/Did You Think I Was Gone."

"I first heard Tandy playing in a friend's car- all of 2 tunes...loved what I heard, so I purchased the double cd- To a Friend/Did You Think I Was Gone. Loved it more and more with each listen- which I'll admit was repeatedly for a some time! Even today- almost 2 years later, at least one of these 2 cds is in my car cd player at any given time...hopefully inspiring the next unexpected Tandy fan who happens to ride with me!



REALLY great drivin music!!! Nothing I like more than driving on the highway, singing along to these (particularly To A Friend) simple yet deeply profound lyrics with melodies that seem to support my soul!



I highly recommend purchasing!

The music and lyrics are breathtaking...complimenting each other exquisitely, all while taking you right where you need to be."
