"The real story behind The Shaggs was the father. What planet was he from? This was 1969 (The Who, The Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Woodstock etc.)how exactly did he think his "band" was going to make superstars of themselves. This whole story is a John Waters movie. It's strange, surreal, unbelievable, bizzare. How this even happened is beyond all conventional reality which is the most interesting thing about it. Is it listenable? No, it is absolutly atrocious but the fact that someone thought it was worth commiting to vinyl is more unbelievable than the music itself."
