I originally had this comedy album on 8-track, and I was so happy to see it available on CD. Robin Williams is a true original in every way. This album is not like any comedy you have heard before. Robin puts every bit of his high energy and intelligence into his first record after experiencing world wide fame for his Mork character on tv.
However, he does not fall into the trap most comedians do, and milk what has already worked for him. He actually tells the audience at one point, sounding desperate to apoint of complete seriousness, that he did this performance to be totally different. As they yell "do Mork", he politely says no and kind of compares the Mork phenomenon to a form of slavery that he wants to completely escape for the night. And.... the crowd goes wild and supports him 100%.
So he prcedes to tear up the stage as only he can taking shots across the bow a politics, show biz, and even breaks into a mostly improvisational Shakespeare play about nuclear power, and the danders of it.
A defintie 5 star ablum for anyone who prefers their comedy to be original and thought provoking.

"Just bought the CD to replace the LP of it. Wonderfully funny, inventive robin williams, one of the best things he's done, sound quality on this cd version was great! Only a night at the met is better of Robin Williams stand-up.
Robin Williams is the best comedic genius performing, in my humble opinion, and this album, touching on so many different things, making you laugh and cry, shows why."
Somebody Please reissue this

"We didn't have comedy videos back then,(there wasn't the whole rock star kind of persona that comedians have now), but I remember laughing when Robin was doing the Three Mile Island Meltdown as Hamlet. The trumpets sounded and someone in the crowd yelled "I can't see you!" and Robin replied something to the effect, "That's because I'm not on stage yet!" It sounds silly but I from that start I didn't get a chance to stop laughing until the album was over (and then some). His mind took us on a journey as only Robin Williams can. There are phrases from this show that still and come up in conversations with some of my oldest and closest friends. Please someone re-release this so that another generation can enjoy the mind of Robin Willims!"
