"She ruled the early eighties as the brash and brassy vixen that stormed the burgeoning MTV with "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," and her cover of The Young Rascals' "You Better Run" holds the honor as the second music video ever played. With her gutsy persona delivering the goods, Benatar certainly deserves credit as a major role in the development of women's rock. Whether it's "Treat Me Right" or "We Belong," Benatar's punchy vocal style and percussion-filled accompaniment serve up songs that are infallibly catchy and heady in their tough-girl act. The indescribably ubiquitous "Love Is A Battlefield" or "Invincible," the theme from the flick, The Legend of Billie Jean, both serve up a delectably reminiscent trip down memory lane.
A live version of her signature song, "Heartbreaker" volunteers a more volatile, emotionally-ridden experience that brings the 1980s to life more than watching that episode of "Growing Pains" where Mike falls for a Madonna look-alike.Packed with more hits than you'd care to admit loving, this Classic Masters release proves that Benatar knew how to rock with all the finesse and wild style that an 80s icon needed to climb to the top."
