Synopsis

Product Description
It's been a decade since Jason Boland and the Stragglers got together to form their outlaw band. Now considered the stalwart leaders in the red dirt movement, the band has been making its case in each of its 200 shows a year, and on each of its records. Whether it's called Texas, Country, Americana, or Red Dirt, everyone can agree that Jason Boland is rightfully at the top of the movement with his uncompromising attitude toward the music he and his fans love. Jason Boland and the Stragglers prove that point again, showing listeners what it's all about in their release Comal County Blues.

"Jason Boland is evolving. His last record is most country, most accurate than ever. I Love the others records of Mr Boland but Comal County Blue is the greatest.

Once and again I'm enjoying listening this brand new record."
Boland - sober and sensational

"Jason Boland and The Stragglers have played gigs near my hometown ... my husband's high school students just love him and his music.

I liked the songs from his 2006 CD, "Bourbon Legend" for their originality and for their Merle Haggard-flavor, but the CD didn't spend much time in rotation during my 30-minute commute to and from work.

All that has changed.

"Comal County Blue" is stunning. For about two weeks, I've listened to it in the car and on my iPod and I'm still hearing something new with each play through.

The title cut will probably get the most attention, but "Alright," "Sons and Daughters of Dixie" and the sweet ballad "May Not Be Love" deserve some air time on the radio.

Boland's band, The Stragglers, really step it up on "Outlaw Band." It's rock with a grown-up feel.

The songs deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, booze, battling demons and the war in Iraq. There's a maturity to the lyrics. This is not a no home-grown, loosely-produced record. It's the real deal. This may be what breaks Boland into the big time.

Enjoy!
