Synopsis

Album Description
2008 self titled release by The Fashion with band members singer Jakob Printzlau, guitarist Anders Find Axelsen, and bassist Christian Lignell Baekholm who have played together since 1995. The visual medium is also an integral piece of the band's chemistry. In addition to being the singer, Jakob Printzlau is an active visual artist and directs all the bands videos and designs their artwork and merchandise. The three first met in the underground music scene of their hometown Svendborg, Denmark. Under various names, they moved toward a musical style that incorporated influences from post punk and alternative rock that in the following years would encourage them to experiment further. Soon after they added drummer, Jakob Ankaer Johansen and Christoffer Griebel on keyboards.

CD Reviews

The fashion do it well
J. Wahlgren | boston | 05/31/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Maybe it's just me, but this is definitely my most listened to album this year. There is something about the quietness of "Apt." & the addictive "Letters from an Ambulance" that make me want to become one with the Fashion (as in, one of the members). Though from Denmark, I think this cd has a good shot in the states; not having a bad song on the album, having some the Strokes-like riffs as well as influence from the Clash. Since the libertines broke up, this gives me another reason to love foreign bands & though they may not be good live (from video on youtube) things are looking up for this album."
Why is this AWESOME album have only 1 review?!?!

"This is a fantastic new wave/post-punk album. The album as a whole is solid with few if any fillers. I found out about them accidentally. Whenever I play it, people ask me who this is. All my friends who listen to it become instant fans. People get a clue."
