Synopsis

Album Description
Renowned NW producer (Screaming Trees, Beat Happening, Unwound, Low - to name but a few), musician (Pell Mell, Pigeonhed, and on his own), collaborator (with Heather Duby and with Steven Jesse Bernstein), and raconteur (Hype!), Steve Fisk brings on the freaky beats, blips, noises, and squawks. He's something of a living legend and a master of the sampling and tape manipulation art.

CD Reviews

Maybe we were drunk, maybe we were underwater
Richard Fonte | Chicago IL | 05/07/2001
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Yes, this is not the album I expected from Fisk but damn it is cool. There is more going on in Where's the Fire than on most other band's entire albums and the layering of sounds, instruments, voices, and what ever else created a complicated sounscape that never ceases to surprise and excite. A bit quirky and poppy (these are good things as far as I am concerned) at times, the music rocks out when it wants (it is obvious he jammed with Kurt) and drifts into an AIR-mellowness at other times. This is just one odd album and is worth checking out."
