CD Reviews

Remix of songs

(2 out of 5 stars)

"If you want a remix of the songs, then this is what you will get. The songs, like "rock & roll party in the streets and eagles fly alone" aren't even close to the original versions, If you are looking for the original then I would not recommend this CD"
The remixes are better than the old, outdated Axe sound.

"I have listened to the Axe of old and the Axe of new. I can conclude that that there are only a couple of old versions that I prefer (and that is only because those songs haven't been remixed yet). There are several advantages of the remixes over the originals:
1. A new singer. Bob Harris brings the vocal range that Bobby Barth was lacking.
2. Better vocal harmonies, which was the problem I had with the old axe. The out-of-key harmonies of Bobby Barth of the old Axe era was hard on my ears.
3. An updated hard rock sound. The old Axe was good, but the sound is out of date by today's standards. If you can't stand the outdated rock sound, but still want to know more about Axe, then I highly recommend purchasing this cd. Great songs such as "Rock & Roll Party", "Burn the City Down", and "Life's Just An Illusion" have been made better with an updated sound, making those songs a pleasure to listen to everytime. Don't miss out on "Twenty Years Volume 2," which includes more Axe greats remixed."

"It is definately a re-mix. But, these are still good versions of the songs. Someone else reviewed this CD, and said that there was a diferent singer on Rock And Roll Party In The Street. Bobby Barth wrote the song, He sang it on the original, and that's him singing it on this one!"
