I first heard some cuts from this cd on the radio, probably around the time it was released. fortunately, I had been recording off the radio, but it wasn't until years later I listened to the tape of that station again, and remembered how much I liked that music; also fortunately, the dj had named the artist and album, so I immediately posted it as wanted on swapacd, and to my pleasure, it came up available.
It's amazing how creative an artist can be with an instrument that's "typecast"; normally you expect a certain kind of music from a harp; but Judith Pintar has taken this instrument and made it sing what was in her heart (and spirit, too, I believe), and she tells a spiritual story, along with her accompanist, that resonates with me-the story of the struggle to unite the mind and heart or "eros and psyche" as she puts it. The perfectly blended instruments-violin and harp-are haunting at times and sweet and comforting at times, but always complex, creative, and take me away to unknown places within, where the wind is blowing on my garden.
