CD Reviews

Classic Bob Weir. A "Must" for Grateful Dead Fans!
Tim | Las Vegas, NV | 10/27/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"At a time of introspective change and a pause in the touring schedule for the Grateful Dead, Bob Weir combines his talent with songwriter John Barlow to make sure "the music never stops." Previously out of print, Kingfish provides the familiar Bay Area country rock sound that personifies the "70's Dead." Finally, Kingfish can be enjoyed once again!"

Kingfish - The group ahead of its time.

"They had Bob Weir, Matthew Kelley, Robbie Hodinot (hope I spelled that right) and many, many talented musicians. I saw them in the early 80's at a small club in Syracuse, New York. To put it bluntly, they brought the house down. Half the people had not even heard of them. I had this album when it first came out, and then Trident(...).

This was a brilliant studio album, and if you have an above average stereo to play it on (the last reviewer probably didn't) you can hear all the nuisances associated with a great production.

They were one of my top bands from the mid 70's on, and to THIS day I am still addicted to this CD. It is one of my all time favorite COOL sounding CD's. Ahead of it's time. Hypnotize is pure genius. Get it, you will not be sorry."
