I have no idea why there are so many copies of this album on here.

What is there to say about Mellon Collie that hasnt been already? If you’re an avid 90s rock fan, simply a rock fan, or just a music lover in general, you NEED THIS ALBUM. I cannot emphasize that enough.

Both of these cds are chalked-full of the Pumpkins magic, plus hits galore!

Huge playing time, so great value. In addition to the hit singles there are a ton of good songs on here. A couple of tracks feel like filler, nothing but guitar feedback and screeching intended to maintain the band's hard rock cred.

The Best Smashing Pumpkins Album

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've long been a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins, dating back to their Siamese Dream album and before. I liked how they can blend harder rock songs with other more subdued works. When this album came out it quickly found its way into almost non-stop rotation in my listening queue. This album was the greatest example of what made the Smashing Pumpkins spectacular. I am writing this review many years after its release and after many hundreds of listenings and I still find it great. It combines rock songs like 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' and 'Zero' with softer sounds to make a terrific collection. Having two full CDs of music gives you plenty to listen to. About the only bad thing I can say about this album is that it was unfortunate that the Smashing Pumpkins brought out in the middle of their career because each follow-up album seemed to pale in comparison to this one in my mind.

If you are a fan of alternative you have almost undoubtedly already listen to this album and formed an opinion on it. If you are new to the Smashing Pumpkins or 90s alternative, this is one of the greatest examples of the genre and the band. Do yourself a favor and pick this album up if you haven't ever listened to it and you'll enjoy it."
