On CD Sleeve: "Classical Loon is an artful blending of music in the classical style with the haunting calls of the loon".

Listener Review: When I first put this CD on my wife and I had a laughing fit. But, we actually ended up enjoying the blend of classical music with the loon calls - it is relaxing back round music and my son went to sleep right away with it playing (good thing? bad thing?). The production is superb and the playing is playful and the loon calls are mixed in well as a whole. Bob Baldwin is the audio artist who recorded the loon calls live in their natural world - which is quite astounding that they turned out so well.

Review from AllMusic: Having enjoyed a successful career as a producer, composer/arranger in Hollywood studios, Lex decided to make music to his own satisfaction. Mountains is music straight from the heart, inspired by his love of the Utah Wasatch Mountains. His keyboard compostions combine cuts of touching intimacy with a more driving, sophisticated, jazz orientation. Azevedo's piano and synthesizer work is complemented by violin, sax, cello, percussion, flute and clarinet.

Review from listener: A very pleasant care-free listen. New Age instrumentals - that will work in any environment (deep meditation, or relaxing back round music while reading or working at the office). The linear notes contain stories about how each song was inspired - which are interesting to read while listening to the music. The production on the album is really well down - you can feel all the nuances of what Lex De Azevedo was going for.

Listerner's review: Again, I'm impressed with the label- Northsound - and their amazing field technicians (Keith Griswold & Josh Baldwin) capturing the varying sounds of the ocean. Lange let's the natural rhythm of the ocean guide his lulling new age keyboard melodies.

Obo is very talented guitar player and this instrumental album displays his love of Latin/Flamenco sounds. The production is very clean and focused on his fluid style. Overall, an enjoyable listen - but to be honest - Olas Suaves is nothing ground breaking. But, sometimes it is nice just to let an album be on - still very much worth a listen for instrumental music enthusiasts.

The Hermit is keyboardist and percussionist Hamish Thomson, but on his sophomore disc, Wonderment, he brings his touring band along to fill out his electronic soundscapes. Even with all the lush textures in Wonderment, it never sounds cluttered, in fact all the instruments have breathing room in the final mix — including piano, electric/acoustic and pedal steel guitar, banjo, live strings, and even an oil can — giving the record a cool, laid back appeal. Keeping with tradition in the electronic genre, Hermit collaborates with many different vocalists including Martina Sorbara, Allison Shevernoha of Paper Moon and C.R. Avery and Frazey Ford of the The Be Good Tanyas. Each artist works with songs that compliment their unique talents, mixing Hermit’s sound with hard rock beats and even country raps. The Hermit makes you feel music, but one word of advice, wear headphones to fully enjoy the sounds of Wonderment.
