CD Reviews

Blaze at his best!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've heard Blaze Bayley sing in Iron Maiden and in his new band Blaze, but I have to say that he sounded best with his original group 'Wolfsbane.' The first part of this CD is in the studio - and it rocks - the second part of this CD is live and it's even better. Totally over the top, totally metal....these are great tunes that are meant to be played LOUD. In the live recordings just close your eyes and you're there, or wish you were there. If you're a fan of Blaze Bayley buy this now! If you're not then you may need a new metal education, so this is a good place to start.
Best song? 'Seen how it's done' has a great melancholy sound, but for pure rock go to tunes like 'Steel' and 'Temple of Rock.'
I'll have to mention though that there is quite a lot of swearing on the live recording, so if you mind that then you might want to steer clear....if you're like me you'll just turn up the speakers and enjoy the album!"
A rocking album

"This album straddles the line between hard rock and metal and I think that is what helps it stand out. Every song just rocks hard and there is no filler material. Blaze might not have the best pipes in the industry, but it totally works with this band. The live stuff is very enjoyable and doesn't just rehash the setlist of the studio disc."
