Something new, something good

"Yeah, there is a lot of really neat music out there right now. And, yeah, a lot of it sounds the same. I try to keep up with what's out there but I'm finding it a bit hard to find an album that original and just plain tasty, something that makes you feel all warm inside, and makes you feel greatful, and really lucky to have stumbled across. Well, this is IT kids. Living on the east coast of Canada has given these guys enough time over the long winters to become excellent musicians. And, the Canadian educational system has given them the skills to write creative and thoughtful lyrics that keep surprising me with their depth. And something else from inside these guys has generated an original sound that is not easy to define, but easy to like. This is NOT a thrown together collection of songs - this a carefully and intelligently crafted experience that will leave you open-eyed with amazement. The songs are all just plain excellent. They pick you up and carry you somewhere you want to be - a slightly higher plane. This is the album that makes folks who like music pay attention. They'll listen a few minutes, then the ears start to perk up, a cool chill goes down the spine, the eyes widen a bit, and a big smile crosses the face. You've found something special."
Well done, Wintersleep

"I'd never heard of this band before picking up a free copy of Weighty Ghost through Zunior. The tune was catchy enough to become a favorite in the car. My teens loved it. I loved it. What could be better, right? Music both me and the kids like. Then I downloaded the album. It's amazing. From start to finish, the album is epic. Wow. I'm really, really impressed with the sound of this album. It's somewhere between Death Cab emo lyrics and the best in sweeping, soaring, power Indie rock. I'm devouring this album and can't wait to learn more about this band. I hope they tour the states soon so I can see if they can pull off this stadium sound in a small space. Good work, boys."
