Prepare to be unusually happy...

"This CD is so darn happy and peppy that you can't help but feel a bit of the love yourself. Wisely, a talented songwriter and a good singer, is joined by master producer John Strawberry Fields (Greazy Meal, 12Rods) to create this infectious piece of pop candy (sorry, but I love that term).Needless to say, I love this CD, in spite of its flaws.Occasionally, the songwriting is a bit weak (Two Charcoal Hearts, Bygones)...at which point the CD is mildly irritating power pop. However, when it's on, it's ON. On Doorbells, Wisely is joined by members of Minneapolis pop/funk/rock/jazz/etc band Greazy Meal for a spectacular musical romp (including impressive organ work by former Greazy Meal and Prince keyboardist Tommy Barbarella). On Flowers for the Lady Wisely evokes the boyish charm with lines like "I want a limo that runs on hot totties/cause I'm spending my last dime right/there better be leg room/for something kinda naughty/cause this girl done love how this poor boy provides" accompanied by former NPG saxophonist Brian Gallagher.Needless to say, it's a fun CD with a lot of good music to offer. It's well worth tracking down and picking up."
