Synopsis

Album Description
This is the critically-acclaimed debut cd of pianist/ composer William Watson that immmediately launched him into the ranks of the elite New Age pianists of the day. Often compared to artists the likes of George Winston, David Lanz and Keith Jarrett, Watson was nominated for "Male Artist of the Year" by the Gay and Lesbian American Music Awards. The music itself reflects a sophisticated blend of New Age, Folk, Jazz and Classical influences from his background and offers a wide range of pieces from brilliant and intense to sensitive and hypnotic. Named to Wind and Wire Magazine's "1997 Year's Best List."

An Amazing Technical Talent
07/28/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I purchased the "Fields" CD after hearing one track "Dogon Moon" on our local DX radio station. I was unfamiliar with the artist and did not realize this was his debut CD. Simply amzaing. I find this CD to be a delightful blend of emotionally intense beautiful melodies with very complex technical arrangements obviously requirng talent that is unparalleled. This artist is obviously unique and refreshing for solo piano of which i am an avid fan. I look forward to his next release."

"Williams first solo effort shines above most artist's debut efforts. The performances are strong and the writing is excellent. Looking forward to his next title whenever that is."

"Beautifully produced, mastered, recorded this thoughtfully composed and deceptively simple music is performed by Watson with great feeling and virtuosity and should be part of any new age collection."
