Synopsis

Album Description
Harrison is a one man sound effects machine that worked for the biggest studios in the 1950's and 60's. For example, the sound effects for the popular Tom and Jerry cartoons were Harrison "doing his thing!" The cannon fire in "Peter Pan" was Harrison "shooting his mouth off." In "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea", the gurgling water and the baby seal sounds were from Harrison. Here is the solo comedy album from a man with talent ad infinitum that appeals to people of all ages.

Amazing Talent

"I grew up with this album in the early 70s (I believe it's from the early 60s). No idea where it came from but I played it over and over until the vinyl was pretty much unplayable. I've always wanted to find another copy of it and am excited to see it's now on CD.

Yes, even back then the jokes were a bit tired (as mentioned by another reviewer) but material that would receive total silence at the hands of another performer can get you laughing hysterically when combined with the amazing sound effects. This guy will blow your mind.

In the late 70s, I saw him perform at Wisconsin Dells - where I believe he still performs. Though the routines were exactly the same as on the record from almost 2 decades earlier, they were still funny. I do know he still tours the country, and his website (do a search for "Mr. Sound Effects") has his schedule along with some other information.

Definitely worth the purchase."
This man is a master of what he does.

"There is absolutely no one on the planet like Wes Harrison. The special effects sounds he does are so realistic, you will find yourself looking around the room for the train, the duck, and all the other items whose sounds he mimics with just his mouth, throat and Shure mike. This is an absolute must own CD, you won't believe your ears, and if you see him in person, your eyes either!"
