"This was a pleasant surprise. Unlike some of the film scores on the Tzadik label, Wayne Horvitz's cues work very well as stand-alone pieces. There is a tremendous diversity here, and Horvitz takes good advantage of sidemen such as Bill Frisell. To my surprise, I have found this to be one of my favorite Wayne Horvitz projects."

"Considering what this is --- 47 soundtrack snippets in 74 minutes --- I'm surprised it's so good. Most of the tracks are *pieces* of songs, so you'd expect to get a little lost. But Wayne Horvitz writes and plays in a consistent way. He's sort of a 21st century Burt Bacharach, relying on simple melodies and a touch of classy eccentricity to create a unique musical signature.This isn't an essential Wayne Horvitz album, but once you've heard it 3 or 4 times, you'll be happy it's in your collection."
