Get This CD! A Potent, Heart-Opening, Vision-Inducing Ride
Frank MacEowen | nomadic | 04/27/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"WACHUMA'S WAVE is sacred music in the truest sense. It is a portal of travel, a soul retrieval, a ritual of deep time dreaming. Veteran trance percussionist Byron Metcalf teams up with German-based musician and shamanic practitioner Mark Seelig to bring forth a multi-textural blend of Bonsuri flutes, sacred chants and overtone singing, simmering percussion and other hybrid grooves, augmented by rich offerings of deep drift ambient synthesizer and didgeridoo from special guest, soundscape maestro Steve Roach. Fans of THE SERPENT'S LAIR will be thrilled by this innovative and heart-stirring alchemy.--Frank MacEowen, author of The Spiral of Memory & Belonging"
An Ambient Masterpiece
Some Guy | 07/08/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I am a big fan of ambient music and own many albums. This is one of the few I keep returning to, it is an indispensable piece of my collection. Metcalf and Seelig have created an incredibly atmospheric soundscape that draws you into a world of deep time. This album conjures up images of the Southwest US and desert landscapes.

This is an excellent album for sleeping and if you just want to relax and read a good book. This album has a very similar sound to Mantram, by Steve Roach and Metcalf and Seelig."
Amazing Audio-Shamanic Experience!

"Wachuma, the sacred cactus. I discovered this album because my shaman was playing it during one of his ceremonies. This album definitely reflects the Wachuma experience . . . it will take you to other realms and inner journeys. I can't stop playing this CD over and over. Byron Metcalf creates a truly meditative and healing experience with this album. It is a definite favorite of my collection!"
