"A friend of mine in Europe gave me a link to a youtube video of their song, Garden's Tale. Wow! It was a great song, and one the strength of that one song, I bought the album; and I was not disappointed. This is a great collection of songs. Volbeat is hard to define - they are just not "a danish metal band" - their sound can't be that easily categorized. Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devils songs really do express a multitude of genres. If you read about them, you'll hear that they say their influences range from rockabilly to Metallica, and Elvis. At first read you'd think their music would be a horrible melange of sounds; but they make it completely work. Volbeat isn't afraid to throw some change-ups in their lineup, but really there isn't a single song on this album that I don't like. They are all good. If I have one complaint is that after listening to this album I went out and bought their other two, but had to pay a premium as their are not available direct from Amazon."
Awesome Sound!

"I heard Volbeat on Sirius for the first time back in January. I am completely into heavy/black/death/thrash metal, although i dabble in a little bit of everything. When I first heard VB, I have to admit that I was not sold. The second song I heard the last week of February was The Human Instrument. This song made me dive head first into what VB has to offer. A few days later I downloaded Rock the Rebel album and have been impressed ever since. I love the sound the group has. It's heavy yet has a punk blast feel to it on some songs. The track Sad Man's Tongue just kicks A$$ all the way. From the start of sounding like a country Elvis/Johnny Cash tune, to exploding with a kick-your-a$$ punk attitude and heavy-as-hell feel. You are missing some excellent music if you don't take the time to listen to Volbeat. They definitely have something to appease the metal palate."
