"The work of Hovhaness synthesizes an essence from both East and West. This always strikes the listener when discovering new scores of his. Being a long time fan of Hovhaness' music, I was looking forward this new CD, and I wasn't disappointed a bit, with perhaps the extra satisfaction that the CD contains only elating pieces : three symphonic poems and the 10th symphony, sounds freely flowing in every direction and carrying along the spirit of the listener through soundcapes of ever changing textures, from simle celestial lines to rumbling chaos.
The interpretation is heartful, though one can hear the album was quickly recorded, even if this doesn't stop the players and conductor to imply all they have !
Quite a fresh and uplifting music !"
