CD Reviews

Terrific!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I'm going to keep this brief...Should you buy this? No...Buy "Libertad."

But definitely hit up the Itunes store (even though the two tracks, which I'll talk about in a minute were previously listed as being on this are now listed as being on the "Libertad: Deluxe Edition"). "Libertad" is my favorite album of 2007, one of my all-time favorites and it's sad that not everyone has gone on to appreciate it as much I have. But this EP features two "bonus tracks" which would've fit perfectly on "Libertad."

They are called "Messages" (an original song) and "Psycho Killer" (a cover of the Talking Heads song). "Messages" features a terrific guitar riff and is really slow, in the vein of "Gravedancer" and "Loving the Alien." The lyrics are wonderful, but what makes them AMAZING is the emotion that Scott Weiland projects into them. I heard this cover of "Psycho Killer" before I heard the original version and LOVED IT...Now that I've heard the original (Which I, don't crucify me, don't really like), I worship at the feet of this. It's hard to say "fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better" and sound cool, but Weiland pulls it off and never loses his dignity. This is truly just a great F**KING SONG! As I said, go to Itunes and listen to these. You won't regret it. Velvet Revolver is the best rock group around currently and they're only getting better."
