"Aahh, indie rock in the early nineties... My first exposure to The Veldt was the track off Marigolds called CCCP heard over the airwaves of college radio. Catchy pop hooks, but Marigolds was no masterpiece. Years later I came across Love at First Hate by The Veldt, their last & best album - the swan song. If you can find it used- BUY IT! This record gets better & better with every listen. This album has it all: beats, licks, soulful harmonies, incredible sonic textures, amazing songwriting. It's a damn shame this band stayed under the radar while they were around. Imagine early Kings X, Lenny Kravitz, & Purple Rain era-Prince then throw-in a delay pedal, distortion, samples, & drum loops. Dig it with two shovels!"
