CD Reviews

The Best One Yet!

"Well, I didn't think they could improve on Vol. 3 of Let's Hear It For The Boy, but they've done it. From the amazing one-two punch of "Relight My Fire" and "Hi Energy" that launches this two CD set to the NRGetic remixes of "Toxic" and "My Immortal" to the blissful modern disco of "Xanadu" (!), "You Hearts Run Free" and "Ladies Night" to the fun reworking of Bobby O's "I'm So Hot 4 U" to the exhilarating climax of "I Was Made For Loving You," this is simply one of the best dance compilations I've heard in a long time."
Another great dance release from LHIFTB!

"This is the third "Let's Hear It" compliation that I own. What I really like about this particular series is the mixes are fresh. Plus for $23.00, you get a double disc set...not bad! This version has great mixes from Donna Summer, Britney Spears, Madonna, KISS, Erasure, Olivia Newton John, Diana Ross and Talk Talk. This set, a little more reminiscent of disco days and the early 80s, really made me smile. Who didn't love Xanadu, This Time I Know It's For Real, I Was Made For Loving You and Love Hangover? BUT...there is a total stinker on this set: My Immortal. I loved My Immortal as a ballad, but the remix is the clumsiest I've heard in my life. The remix beats are WAY OFF of the track beats and it nearly leaves you battered, and not in a cooking way, at the end of the track. For this single reason, I had to deduct a star.Bottom line: Two hours of music for $23.00 is not too bad! Two hours of fresh dance that strolls you down memory lane but keeps its cutting edge - very good!"
Only good if you like covers

"Note: These are all covers of the popular hits you heard on the radio or the danceclub. Boys, if you want the originals, keep looking. The main lure is the hot cover boy."
