CD Reviews

Powerful speeches
M. A. ZAIDI | Karachi; Pakistan | 04/30/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Presented here are 16 fascinating speeches by key historical figures of the 21st century. I listened to the CD to get an understanding of both the contents of the speech and the emphasis of the voice used to convey the dynamics of the situation. These are very powerful speeches and my 3 preferred ones from this selection are
1. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King (Address to the civil rights marches)
2. President john F. Kennedy (The Cuban Missile crisis)
3. Mr. Adlan Stevenson (Confrontation with the Russian ambassador in United Nations over missiles in Cuba)."
It will kill you.

(1 out of 5 stars)

"This is impossibly annoying. I was hoping for a collection of powerful and important speeches. I had no idea that someone would put a jingle in the background of all of them and dirty any pleasure that I had hoped to enjoy. This album is dirty.

I can only imagine that this was done to ensure some sort of copyright over the product to boost some abstracted idea of future profit. I sincerely hope that people do not buy this item if only to punish this behavior to stop its spread.

This album will kill you."
Cheap background music ruins cd.

"These are stand-alone speeches. So what's with the cheap, repetitive minimalist music in the background? The "music" was completely distracting from the speeches. This one is headed for the garbage because of it."
