Nonstop it is, but unadulterated it isn't: mixer John Luongo strips away the beginning and end of most of these tracks to maintain the party groove, and a couple of the segues are pretty awkward. That aside, he's come up with a thoughtful combination of '70s hits and unknown wonders: alongside Parliament and JB's and Kool and the Gang tracks you've heard a million times, he's delved into the archives to find things like "Dynomite," by Tony Camillo's Bazuka, a hip-bumping combination of synth gloops, guitar scratched like nobody does anymore, and disco-addled, Good Times-inspired shrieks. The feel of this volume is less disco-fied than the others', more dedicated to the polyrhythmic interplay of live instruments and peculiar textures that's at the heart of early funk. --Douglas Wolk
