2009 collection, a musical companion to the best-selling book Moondust, a book about the lives of the astronauts who walked on the moon. Like the print version, this album is concerned with three distinct but related journeys, these being the Moonwalkers' space odyssey, the quest to find them, and America's passage through the Space Age years from 1957 to 1973. The track list has been chosen by the author, who began his career as a music journalist at Melody Maker and spent three years as chief Rock critic at the Sunday Times. It includes several tunes by artists who granted special permission for their work to be used (including David Bowie and Ringo Starr) and one by an artist, the legendary John Fogerty of Credence Clearwater Revival, who has never allowed any of his songs to be used in this way before.
