CD Reviews

Expensive, but probably worth the splurge.

10. DIVINE: Native Love 3:57
11. HI FIVE: She's Playing Hard To Get [Hip Hop Remix] 5:27
12. WHODINI: It's All In Mr. Magic's Wand 4:42If you've been settling for the radio edits, then you're missing the point of these retro classics. SAMANTHA FOX gets the full Stock Aitkin Waterman treatment; PAUL LEKAKIS sounds even more like DEAD OR ALIVE in extended form; the WHODINI track appears as a superb dub instrumental verson which showcases Thomas Dolby's brilliant keyboards all the better. The TONI BASIL remix has always disappointed me a bit -- it's fairly true to the original, but whoever decided on the Micky-icky-icky-icky loop ought to be ashamed.Overall, this Japanese import (complete with Japanese text in the booklet!) is certainly a joy to listen to. Wish there were 50 more in this series."
