"There are some great, old songs on this compilation getting covered by some very hip bands. As with any covers compilation, not all the songs work, but some are gems. My personal favorite, and the one I think best exemplifies what a cover song should be, is "She Sells Sanctuary" by The Dandy Warhols. Originally recorded by The Cult, this track was a scorching rocker that really can't be improved upon. So, don't improve it. Just deliver a different interpretation. And that's exactly what the Warhols do, reducing the soaring guitars and drive of the original into a moody, half-paced, synth-infused dream pop tune. Very cool."
