CD Reviews

Rare disco music
07/28/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This collection contains a lot of rarities. This is sophisticated
disco music. T.H.P. Orchestra with vocals by the Duncan Sisters is energetic and great songs to dance to: "Weekend two step" and
"Two hot for love" from their second album. Saint Tropez: "one more minute" and "Fill my life with love". Destination give the disco treatment to Curtis Mayfield's "Move on up". Although many of the groups included are not well known is a worth buying CD."
Great music

"Someone else wrote - "I really hate to spend money on a "CD" that is actually a Vinyl Record to CD transfer, the sound is not good and there are clicks and pops all over the place."

I agree but in this case it is worth it. If you don't want to spend much more hunting down the originals you get a very nice compilation.

5 stars for the music minus one for a rough production."
Disco...at it's best!

"
What an excellent CD. Filled with disco songs(and artists) some of which I've never previously heard of.When people ask me "why do you love classic disco so much?" I say just take a listen to Saint Tropez's "One More Minute".When the break comes and they strip it down to drums/bass,and just keep adding more and more layers of rhythmn instruments, then horns, then strings.WOW! Everything on this Cd is top notch, even Tuxedo Junction's "Andrews-Sisters-meet-Disco" cuts,so much so that I HAD to get T.H.P's "Two Hot For Love" Lp and Fire & Ice's debut LP.Now will some one PLEASE release a vol.2,3, and 4 of this great disco label!!!!!!!!!"
