No More Haircuts!

"Man soundtracks used to be the schiznit! Man almost every good black film from the late 80's early 90's had a good soundtrack also. Man not anymore. Lately these soundtracks have sucked! And this one can be lumped right into the rest of these lately! This sucks! And that's a shame because I heard the movie was really good. The single "Trade it All" with F A B O L O U S, Jagged Edge and P Diddy is just your typical radio jam. Nothing special about it. The Ginuwine cut "Stingy" is nice. I'd have to say he's been coming with the slow jams the last couple of years. But here in DTOWN that song has been in rotation since May constantly. Glen Lewis and Amel Larrieux have a nice selection called "What's Come Over Me". GL sounds so much like Stevie Wonder sometimes. It's reminiscent of some songs on his CD, which is also good. After that you have your B2K's and 3LW's of the world singin about mess they know nothing about. I'm tired of these lil phools singing to me about life. Just a bunch of spares! See back in the day what made a soundtrack were the jams that didn't hit the radio, like the Somethin Somethin remix on the "Love Jones" Soundtrack or Top of the World from the "Menace To Society" soundtrack or I'm Still Waiitin from the "New Jack City" soundtrack. Man the radio jams on here are weak and there's nothing else to go with it! Hopefully the next soundtrack coming will break this pitiful trend"
A nice collection of songs to a good movie...

"This is a typical soundtrack featuring lots of big commercial names and many unknowns; old and new songs. Starting off with the lead single I Need A Girl part 45 featuring none other than P. Diddy as well as Fabolous and Jagged Edge starts it off with a nice track. Ginuwine scores on Stingy and Glenn Lewis & Amel Larriuex (of Groove Theory) get busy on What Come Over Me. Even P. Diddy & The Family's And We is a decent track with a nice beat. 3LW and B2K each show up for tracks that are actually above average. Best Man's song I See You is a smooth uptempo track that is listenable. The album has two old school classics; Marvin Gaye's Got To Give It Up and The Staples- I'll Take You There both of which are welcome additions. The sorry songs however are really bad. Jhene, Collin, Jordan Brown, and Lil Kano's songs should have been completely left off because they are wack subpar tracks that are weak in comparison to the rest of the album. The soundtrack in itself is worth having even if its just for the two classics and "What's Come Over Me" performed by Glenn Lewis & Amel Larrieux. This is a solid disc just not a must hear for most people."
