Standount Among Import Techno Mixes

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Over the past few years America has seen a huge inflow of bad techno mixes. Most haveing 4-5 great songs in a mix of mediocrity, not nearly worth the $30 average price of the double CD sets. The ministry of sound has lead the newest british invasion but this time scores big with the Spring Annual 2001. Each disk has a theme of perfectly mixed great music. The anthems (or soon to be anthems) vastly outweigh the rubbish on this album. The first disc is more of a pure trance/ disco-trance mix, with great mixes of Jakkata's "American Dream", Shiller's "Das Glockenspiel", and my personal favorite mix of Delerium w/Sara McLaughlin's "Silence". This CD's standout is it's second disc and is a true wake up call for Techno fans. The Bass invasion has begun. The Warp Brothers mix a few tracks like "Do You Like Bass?" by Norman Bass and "We Will Survive" highlight this amazing HI-energy disc. Tracks like Rhythmkillaz "Wack AMF", Public Domain's "Operation Blade" and my personal new favorite track "The Vision" By DJ Arabesque make this cd very addictive. Ministry of Sound's Spring Annual 2001 is far and away the best compilation CD of the past year, and Techno, Trance, Dance, and House fans will all find something to enjoy. Happy Clubbing!"

"For starters, CD 1 is trance/house, CD2 is definitely HARDER. This is definitely one of three albums from Ministry Of Sound which ABSOLUTELY KICKS ...!!! It is as good as the Clubber's Guide To Ibiza 2001 and that is my favorite MOS CD!! I own this 2 CD set, and I sometimes opt for cuts off of the CD rather than the vinyl... There are that many good cuts! Some of the artists: Jakatta, Rui DaSilva, Hatiras, Thrillseekers, Cortina, Norman Bass, Warp Bros, Public Domain and more... As someone on the review boards said before... if you had to throw out all your CDs except for 5, this one would be a keeper!! GO GET IT!!"
