To celebrate Valerie Tryon's 75th birthday, APR offers a disc of concertos by the composer perhaps closest to her heart. Here is a disc, more than any other, which shows what a hidden treasure we have in the pianism of this neglected artist. As an added bonus, Tryon plays the premiere recording of Godowsky's cadenza to the C minor concerto. The disc concludes with the charming Rondo K386, a work for which the original ending was long thought to be lost. However, the missing pages recently came to light and this recording features the complete version of this work.
