CD Reviews

Bittersweet
James R. Hinchman | sacramento, CA United States | 11/12/2001
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I've been a fan of Todd's since 1975. I've seen every Todd solo and Utopia tour since. I have been excited at the previous releases of the Archive series, except the quality of the Acapella discs. Once again, I was extremely disappointed by this set. The song selection and performances are wonderful. However, the quality of the recording left MUCH to be desired. I couldn't even listen to it. I can't believe a product of this quality is being marketed. I have cassettes of old radio broadcasts that are superior to this release. If they all had the quality of the Live In Chicago '91 discs, I would be in heaven. But unless you are a real hardcore fan, I would pass on this."
Good performance - bad sound

"This one is STRICTLY for the obsessive TR collectors like myself. The master was obviously a HIGH generation tape of the original radio broadcast. The real shame of it all is that the performance itself is worth hearing - particularly considering the unusual set list."
