CD Reviews

A perfect upbeat roadtrip CD
Jill_Gietzen@notes1.xu.edu | Cincinnati | 02/21/1999
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I stumbled across the movie by accident, bought the CD the next day. Eventhough filled with a lot of country tunes (historically not my favorite) this collection of mostly covers works together really well. This CD kept me from nodding off at the wheel on a 6 hour car trip; so I guess I owe Bill Paxton my life (he's also historically not my favorite... until I saw this great movie). Best tracks: King of the Road, Seven Lonely Days, Sweet Nothin's, Love and Happiness, Te-Ni-Nee-Ni-Nu, Dark Moon and of course, Young Love."
Missing "Sally Gardens"
Yeoh Oon Oon | 12/10/1999
(3 out of 5 stars)

"One of my favorite tunes from the movie is not on this CD--the lovely instrumental version of "Down by the Sally Gardens." You can find it, however, on Alec Finn's "Blue Shamrock.""
Great album

"This is a great album mostly full of lesser known singers covering others songs. By far my favorite singer on here is Mandy Barnett! She has one of the best voices I have ever heard, I've been a fan of hers since she first came out and have yet to hear a song of hers i didnt love. There were a couple weak songs here, but that is just because of my personal tastes since they weren't "country" songs. I would recommend this to anyone."
