Totally fantastic overview of T.Rex's glory era, including m
Michael Topper | Pacific Palisades, California United States | 01/30/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This six-disc box set (including one DVD of amazing and heretofore unreleased video footage) completes the picture of T.Rex's glory years as documented on the "T.Rex", "Electric Warrior" and "Slider" albums, containing hard-to-find radio sessions, live material, demos and T.V. material from the era.

Discs one and two contain US radio sessions previously found

only on the "Spaceball" CD, while discs three and four contain live material taken from the Boston and Wheeley Festival discs, but also a lot of unreleased material. Disc five contains "Electric Warrior" demos not found anywhere else in official release and all of this is of supreme interest--and in good sound, too--although it is the sixth and final disc which is of most importance to T.Rex fanatics like myself. This contains a DVD's worth of amazing TV material, including a live performance from January 1971 featuring wizardly versions of "Jewel", "Elemental Child" (this is the ONLY video footage of this song in existence!) and "Summertime Blues" and showing the transition from Tyrannosaurus Rex to T.Rex. There's also the Rock-En-Stock studio rehearsal footage from a year later, with thumping version of "Telegram Sam", "Hot Love" and "Cadillac", plus an early acoustic rendition of "Spaceball Ricochet" for a UK TV appearance that was previously very hard to find (two other performances of "Cadillac" and "Telegram Sam" from the same program having found VHS release in the 90s).

In all, absolutely worth getting no matter what the price tag (see if you can find a used version, though).
