"In the '50s, Tony Scott was a wild, inventive clarinetist who seemed most at home in a small group, post-bop setting. This CD shows that he still is.

The accompanying DVD was recorded at the same time as the CD, about a year before his death.He's a toothless old man who still has a lot of talent, not only on the clarinet, but plays a nice piano behind his recital of the lyrics to Lush Life. A true pioneer, and even if some don't enjoy his playing, he deserves respect for spreading the improvised word around the world."
