This CD won Grammy Awards in 1995 for Album of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. Recorded live with Tony Bennett's long-standing accompanists Ralph Sharon on piano, Doug Richeson on bass, and Clayton Cameron on drums, the set includes more than 20 songs, many of them standards Bennett has sung for years, such as "Old Devil Moon," "I Wanna Be Around," "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," "All of You," and "Body and Soul." Guest artists k.d. lang and Elvis Costello appear on, respectively, "Moonglow" and "They Can't Take That Away from Me." It's a joyful romp for Frank Sinatra's favorite singer. --Stanley Booth

Wonderful live performance,in which Bennett sings old standards, including his signature piece "I Left My Heart in San Francisco"; also does a duet with k.d. lang and another one with Elvis Costello. His first MTV appearance, and the crowd loved him! Really energized the performance

If you don't mind the chit chat inbetween songs, there's some good Tony Bennett tunes here.

Good if you like Tony Bennett in concert- I'm not that big a fan.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I guess as you get older, tastes change. I bought this cd years back when I saw Tony on Mtv, and now I can't stop listening to it. What I like is how real and how genuine the songs are, as well as how real Mr. Cool aka Tony Bennett is himself. This guy rocks. Lots of personality and one heck of a voice, you won't find a more natural and talented performer than TB. This disc is full of classics so you can't go wrong. Nice mix of tempo in terms of upbeat songs and ballads, plus the cool guests stop in to put their spin on the material. Top notch musicians as well.
