CD Reviews

Tomita #1 in Electronic Music Impressionism
John R. | Frisco, TX USA | 02/02/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Tomita has to be the epitome of true excellence in electronic music. His musical canvas is synthesizers, and he creates musical textures and sounds capable of taking you to other imaginary worlds. The mixture of orchestral symphony with evidently new, different and unique electronic textures produce beautiful, other-worldly original compositions and great classical works recreations. He has honed his craft to perfection. ANY Tomita CD is highly recommended, especially "The Bermuda Triangle," in which he electronically recreates some of Prokofiev's works. He is truly ingenious at his craft, both in his own compositions and in interpreting many classical works. His electronic "tone paintings" of Debussy are beautiful and captivating."

"With due respect, Jeff 747 may care to research more precisely before stating Tomita's album anthology. Several albums (to my knowledge)have been omitted.ie STORMS FROM THE EAST,MISTY KID OF WIND,SOUND CREATURE and SWITCHED ON ROCK (billed as ELECTRIC SAMURAI CBS records) ,as far as I know his first major international album before the release of SNOWFLAKES ARE DANCING.
