Glad To Be Gay was recorded during a series of Gay Pride shows in June 1979. Among the bonus tracks is the rare indie single Glad to Be Gay Part 1 (renamed here Good to Be Gay), a live cover version of Carlton Edwards' AIDS classic Last Rites. North By Northwest reveals further depths to Tom Robinson's talent. His authentic voices speaks loud and clear as he no longer preaches the reassuringly right-on line to the converted, but instead reveals himself as a victim of incurable romanticism, bleakly nostalgic for the past, fearful of the future. Clearly, it's his best yet.
