CD Reviews

Makes me love D/C songs more....

"I am so in love with this CD... I can't stop playing it. Over & over & over... I just leave it in my CD player and it is like the only thing I listen to. There are some really cool little parts that are totally new that you never heard before and then there's the excellent interpretation of Chris' vocals. Every one of my friends are Dashboard Fans and they all totally love this CD too. This CD is worth every penny I gave for it and when I finally wear it out I'm going to buy another one."

"I am rarely interested in any type of classical music, so it came as a surprise to me when someone told me about "The String Quartet Tribute to Dashboard Confessional." I listened to a few samples online and was hooked. The CD is fantastic and the song selection is really well done. Their version of "Screaming Infidelities" is truly amazing. My only complaint is that I wish there would have been more than 10 tracks. However, I suppose that leaves room for a volume 2 or 3 in the future."
This showcase's DC's musical appeal

"Yes, there are no lyrics in this album, but that's a good thing. Without the lyrics of the songs it allows the music to become the basis of the album and no necessarily the ideas of the lyrics. Certainly someone listening to the album would get an idea of what is being expressed and that's a credit to the writing of Chris Carrabba. This album doesn't make me long to listen to Dashboard because I want to hear his voice instead of the strings, I like the strings and although some customers might find it to be over-the-top, it's not. It's actually right on the money. The songs as written, are very repetitive and driving songs with not a lot a solo sophistication. His performance of the lyrics is very passionate in a way that most people would find over-the-top, but in actuality they are right on the money in capturing the essence of what it feels like to experience young love. Like I said, because the album conveys this without the lyrics, it succeeds and I enjoy it very much, some may find it boring though, without the vocals."
