"I first came across this album when I was in college, and was totally blown away very stark production done by John Leckie of Stone Roses fame. The album plays like an underworld soundtrack dark overtones, and very blistering rockin tunes.....This is well worth the $$ as Rock hasn't been this good since the stooges. If you are a new wave of just plain old rock fan this album will rock your world"

"from the opening track of SHAKEDOWN to the killer closer in COAST TO COAST this album is pure magic. this album incorporates blues, psychadelic guitars swirling around rock induced rhythm. there are added instruments of horns, sax and harmonica for a loose feel but with good melody. ray hanson is a magician on guitar and james jones sings in the vein of the old soul singers at times. the band is anchored with a kickin rhythm section of will pepeper on bass and phil smith on drums. it is difficult to classify this band because where some things such as blues and psychadelia are obvious, there is so much more underneath. call it psychadelic swamp rock. all i can say about this album is if i could ring it would bleed and thats the best way to sum up the beauty of this album. this is THEE HYPNOTICS at their finest. the "blues machine" is a fine additon to anyone's collection."
