Synopsis

Album Description
"Kurdistani" is the name of the current production from the Kurdish musician Nazar Said. Persian, Kurdish and Arabian influences are the fresh and lively basis for the in Italy based formation THE THIRD PLANET. The band name THE THIRD PLANET meaning the third planet of our solar system, the earth reflects the group's intention to make music in order to communicate among different cultures and to enrich the experience and understanding of mankind. It is known that musical areas of the world were never separated by rigid borders. India, the Middle East and Europe, despite their different musical traditions, share the same roots. If you listen to ancient tunes you can understand what the band is meaning to say. The band exists of 5 musicians. Singer and Saaz player, NAZAR is from Kurdistan/ Iraq. He is head of the formation and is able to sing and play the ancient melodies, keeping them alive through a new interpretation. MAURIZIO DAMI from Italy, plays Keyboards and provides the base without being affected by history and culture. SMAIL KOUIDER AISSA from Algeria brings, as second Keyboard player the Mediterranean and Arabian flair into the music on "Kurdistani". RASHMI v. BHATT from India, takes care of the rhythmic part with the most typical and universally famous Indian percussion instrument, the Tabla. PAOLO CASU, also from Italy provides the music with rhythmic sound colors of Africa and the Middle East, with his instruments the Daf, Darbouca and Jembe. "Kurdistani" has already reached up to No. 6 on the "European World Music Charts".
