Best Statler Album EVER
L. Dunfee | Georgia | 08/27/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Like most Statler fans, I grew up listening to them. I am a Gen X'er that won't touch country music, but I cannot live without my Statlers. My parents taped all their favorite songs off of every Statler Brothers album for our 14 hour road trip every year, and most of this album was on it. One last Day to Go is probably my favorite song of all time. Kid's Last Fight is a tear Jerker and Clay Kentucky is just timeless. I LOVE this album so much. I cannot say enough great things about it. All of their music (with Lou)was phenomenal, but I recommend this one and Christmas Card."
Perhaps the best single Statler album ever
L. Dunfee | 03/05/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album has a little something for everyone who is a fan of the Stats, the greatest country group ever. For the southern gospel fan, One Less Day to Go is a classic, upbeat standard. Nobody Wants to Be Country is as timely in 1999 as it was when it was first released. We Got Paid by Cash is a fitting tribute song for the "Man in Black" who gave the Statlers their start. The affection the Statlers still feel for Johnny Cash is obvious. Charlotte's Web may be remembered by a few as a song from one of the Smokey and the Bandit movies. How are Things in Clay Kentucky is vintage Statler style--straight country, with a great story. That's really what makes the Statlers the Statlers--great storytelling. This CD is a must for a Statler fan or any traditional country fan for that matter. It is probably my favorite single Statler album, and I have most of them. Enjoy it."
