The Spiral Band effortlessly stitches together worldbeat and rock influences. Their self-titled flagship album is a bold collection of lyrical prose and melodic wanderings composed of sounds both international and domestic. These songs are amazing, highlighting lyrical intimacy in "Tomorrow" and "Solace" as well as providing a blended palette of sound in "Simple Song" and "Beautiful Blues". This was a songwriting project conceived in the late 1990's on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon now seen to fruition through the vision of and producing collaboration of singer/keyboardist/songwriter Chad Nesland and drummer/songwriter, Michael Espejo. The Spiral Band was recorded and produced at Caveman Records in Minneapolis with guest musicians contributing Brazilian percussion, African background vocals, violin, and trumpet sections. If you enjoy Paul Simon's "Rhythm of the Saints" or The Police / Sting's music, you should certainly take a lyrical tour of these songs. We've also been told we sound similar to Blues Traveler and Santana. These songs are part of the self-titled debut album.
