CD Reviews

Finally! All the Motels' hits...REMASTERED!
Invisiboy2001 | Chicago, IL United States | 03/16/2002

"Martha Davis is a terrific singer and songwriter, and it is a pleasure to finally have all her hits with the Motels on one beautifully remastered disk! These songs have never sounded better! From the crisp sound of "Take The L" to the refreshed layers of "Suddenly Last Summer, " this CD is pure listening pleasure. "Only The Lonely" is moodier than ever, and "Shame" demands to be turned up as loud as the stereo will go. Any '80s fan's collection is severely lacking without this disk! It simply blows the Motels' perviously released "No Vacancy: Best of the Motels" out of the water. Highly recommended!"

"Great CD! Finally a Greatest Hits package from this fine 80s band that includes their best song "Mission of Mercy" along with their other great songs. Far better than "No Vacancy" which excludes Mission (inexcusable) & includes some other tunes that are mediocre at best. The remastered sound is also superior!"
Great Tracks from a Great Band

"After years of neglect by Capitol Records in keeping life-long fans and potential new fans from much of The Motels catalog, finally Capitol has released an awesome CD with some awesome songs. Besides giving full quality to these timeless classics, the big treat is having "Some Things Never Change" (studio version) finally finding itself on a CD. Ok, Capitol Records, we're ready for more...how about rereleasing Careful and Shock? Or better yet, sign Martha back on so we can hear her new awesome tunes at our leisure!"
