"The only possible reason for buying this CD is just to get it out of circulation!!"
Haven't listened to the whole thing yet...

"But from what I've heard thus far, the music seems passable if not exactly ground-breaking. It must tickle Ani to hear her stuff recycled in such a way (oh, the irony). This is one of those situations where you either "get it" or you don't. It seems to me most of the reviewers here don't. It's not -meant- to be insulting, so stop trying to act all insulted. It's not your music anyway. Lighten up, people. If you're thinking I'm saying this because I'm not as "dedicated" a fan as some, and I don't understand the "purity" of her sound - well, that's just ridiculous. I've been listening to Ani for eight years, I've seen her live four times, and if nothing else, I've discovered that her music is about whatever happens (creatively speaking) along the way - not just what's popular now. It seems a popularity contest is what most of her new fans are striving to win... "Hey, it's cool to like this chick. Annie rules!" (Excuse me while I choke on my grape soda.)More than anything, these songs reminded me of a movie that's set in the future - in which some foreign guys are singing "oldies" songs at a karaoke bar. They sound like those guys, and I guess that was the point. Haha."
I beg to differ

"I couldn't have been more excited when I saw that my two favorite musical genres had teamed up, Ani and Lounge!! Sure, I was leery but I couldn't deny it, nor could have been happier with my purchase! Of course it's not Ani, but that's the point! I think it's great that she and her incredible lyrics have been paid tribute to and transformed into a totally new sound... it's like a whole new album with some spiced Ani sprinkled on. And as far as how she may feel about it, Sara Lee was in on it, and I don't think she'd get involved if Ani wouldn't approve! So, open your ears and check it out..."
